‘to provide the best of amateur theatre to our local community, and to have fun doing it’
We started in 1950 by the Rev. Clifford Davies in the All Saints Church Hall. our first production was ‘The Whole Town’s Talking’ staged in 1951. By 1971 we were gaining a reputation for putting on really good shows, notably ‘The Miracle Worker’ for which we won two Daily Echo nominations. Since then we have continued to produce quality theatre – a range of musicals, comedies and pantomimes. We are now based at St Peter’s School, which specialises in the arts and has a 475 seated auditorium.
We currently have around 70 members of varying ages, interests and abilities. We produce four shows a year. A musical or pantomime in January, two plays (one in June and one in September), and a patrons only evening in May. We also have a choir called the All Saints Singers who perform regularly, including at the Bournemouth Music Festival.
We have develop a subscription scheme, and now have over 1000 loyal supporters.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings, starting at 7.15pm. If you are interested in being involved, please come along on a Thursday evening to the De La Salle Theatre at St Peter’s School, meet the crew and see how we operate. it’s always great to see new faces.
